I was born on December 6, 1924 in Kansas City, Missouri. I was inducted into the Navy on February 27, 1943; and went to Boots at Farragut, Idaho. I attended Electrician Mate School in Ames, Iowa, Aviation Electrician mate School in Chicago. Illinois, and Electric Turret School in Jacksonville, Florida. I joined the Fleet air Wing 14 at North Island, San Diego for one year.

I boarded the U.S.S. Nassau in February 1945 with very few duties assigned to me. I was discharged from the Navy on March 26, 1946 with the rating of AEM 1c. I married on August 28, 1948 and have 4 children, 6 grandchildren, and I great-grandchild.
