Frank Czaja

I was born on October 15, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois.  From 1935 to 1944, I worked as a Machinist for the Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad until I joined the Navy on June 19, 1944.

 I was assigned to NTC at Great Lakes, Illinois; NTSCH at Richmond, Virginia; NTS at NOB Norfolk, Virginia, and then aboard the Nassau. I served in the "A" Division, Auxiliary Power. I left the Nassau on December 8, 1945 and was Honorably Discharged from the Navy on January 19, 1946. I returned to railroad work until I retired in July of 1977.

On October 26, 1940 I married Helen Sekerks and we had four children, three boys and one girl.
