Adolph Jacob Jarolik, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Jarolik, was born on June 18, 1916 in Bartlett, Texas a graduate of BartIett Public School, Adolph Jarolik volunteered for service with the United States Navy and entered at the Naval Recruiting Station in Houston, Texas on June 26, 1942. He completed training at San Diego, California and Bremerton, Washington.
Upon completion of training Gunners Mate Third Class Adolph Jarolik was assigned to the USS Nassau (CVE-16) where he served in the Aleutians and Attu. Later he was transferred to the
USS Downes DD 375), serving in the Marshalls, Marianas, and Leyte. He was honorably discharged from the United States Navy at Camp Wallace (Galveston County, Texas) on November 10, 1945. Gunners Mate Third Class Jarolik was awarded the Asiatic Ribbon with 4 Battle Stars and the Good Conduct Medal for his service during World War II.
On February 21, 1949 Adolph Jarolik was married to Emilie Betty Pajcstka of Holland, Texas, at SS Cyril and Methodist Catholic Church in Granger, Texas. They lived in Holland, Texas where he was self-employed as a farmer.
They had two children; Jeanette Elizabeth Jarolik and Rebecca (Becky) Cynthia Jarolik. Jeanette is married to Lieutenant Colonel Lewis U. Wald, Jr. (USAR). Jeanette and Lewis currently reside in Georgetown, Texas. Becky is married to Gary Alien Hajda. Becky and Gary reside in San Antonio. Texas and have three children: Rachel Elizabeth Hajda, Sara Emily Hajda, and LuLc Jacob Hajda.
Adolph Jacob Jarolik died on February 21, 1980. He is buried in the SS Cyril and Methodist Catholic Church Cemetery in Granger, Texas.
