I was born in Liverpool, Louisiana on October 31, 1922. I enlisted in Hammond, Louisiana on June 27, 1942. I was stationed at NRS at New Orleans, LA; NTS at San Diego, ,CA; aboard the Nassau andCASU-19; NAS, Banana River, FL; ATB, Fort Pierce, FL.

While aboard the Nassau, I was SC3C. I remember the whipping I got the first time I crossed the Equator as an initiation.

I was awarded the American Campaign Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Area Campaign Ribbon, Navy Good Conduct Ribbon, and World War II Victory Ribbon. I was Honorably Discharged at Fort Pierce, Florida on January 2,1946. I married Margie McCurry on March 16, i946. I have one son and one daughter; four grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
