I worked on the Delaware & Hudson Railroad for 43 years I have been retired since 1985.... I am an artist   and I paint in watercolors, Pen& Ink and acrylics..... This is for my own pleasure; however I do manage to sell prints from time to time...I am married, second time, for 28 years to Ann House Mongillo.... I have three children, one boy and two girls, and I have one stepson, one grandchild...23 years old......History of my time on the Nassau is as follows..... I boarded the ship at Alameda CA April 1944. My first assignment on the Nassau was a part of ComCarTransRon's Fleet to Finschhaven, New Guinea. In July 1945 and I was transferred off of the ship in San Francisco and was sent to Pier 92 Hudson River NYC...I was sent home on a 30 day leave, I then reported back to New York and was sent back out to the Philippine Islands aboard the USS GRASP, a Salvage Ship, where we helped raise sunken ships in Manila Bay...I remained there until I was discharged in March 1946...I was a First Class Seaman Radioman aboard the Nassau......when I was discharged I was a 3rd Class Petty Officer Radioman.
