John Morgan

John Morgan enlisted in May 1944 at Marrietta, Ohio. He was then sent to the Naval Training Station in Illinois Station. He was then stationed in California at Camp Shoemaker then to the Treasure island staging area. He was then taken  aboard the USS R. L. Howze, a U.S. Coast guard transport and taken to the Admiralty Islands. It was there he went aboard the USS Nassau from September 1944 till December 1944. He was in the electrical division. In December of 1944 from Pearl Harbor he was transferred to the USS Steamer Bay  CVE-87 where he was a F2C. He remained on the Steamer Bay where he was discharged in Bellingham, Washington in May 1946. John was discharged from Great Lakes on May 28, 1946. John has been married 56 years and has 1 son, 2 daughters, 9 grandchildren and 4 Great grandchildren. John retired from Rockwell Space Division in January 1990, after 36 years.  He lives in Baltimore, Ohio.
