Clifton Otha Parsons

I was born on November 13, 1927 in Charleston, West Virginia. I enlisted in the Navy on March 31, 1944, and went to Boot Camp at Camp Perry, Virginia. Boot Camp was followed by going onboard the Nassau, where I was a Gunner.

He tells many stories, but the one he remembers the most is about the storm that hit and the waves coming over the ship, and taking the planes off the ship.

I was discharged from the Navy in California on March 8, 1946. I returned to West Virginia and married Nealie Fisher in June of 1946. We have a son, James and a daughter, Marilyn. We also have 6 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. I still live in Charleston, West Virginia.
