Reunion 1993

The Seventh U.S.S. Nassau Reunion was held in Springfield, MO at the Holiday Inn on September 30th to October 3rd, 1993, with 89 registered.

We took the Branson Tour on October 1st form 9:30 a.m. to IQ:30 p.m., and had the choice of seeing The Oak Ridge Boys, Wayne Newton, Mel Tillis or Bobby Vinton. We made a tour of the city of Springfield, including the Pro Bass Outdoor World. We also took a jeep-drawn tram tour through The Fantastic Caverns.

Our speaker at the banquet was Lee Nadeau who was President Bush's Gunner on a TBF in The Pacific Theater.  Shipmates who attended the U.S.S. Nassau Reunion in Springfield were J. Adams, W. Hanson, J. Hartzheim, T. Hennessy, C. Jordan, W. Kennedy, E. Lamb, R. Kleinspehn, P. Liebert, F. McLain, S. Moore, E. Morris, R. Morris, G. Oberst, P.Oliver, C. Pierce, C. Price, J. Rappenecker, G. Roberts, B. Robinson, R. Rose, C. Ross, E. Sirnko, E. Schneider, P. Walker, R. Wilson, S. Zabinski, W. Zink, and their wives.

During the Invocation at the seventh reunion. The Nassau Chaplain, Wilbur Zink remembered those who had passed away since our last reunion. They were Wills Kiser and Frank Workman.
